Welcome to the Website of Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Natalia Dubrovinskaia

This webpage presents current research and activities of a team of scientists led by Professor Dubrovinskaia and Professor Dubrovinsky, who have been working together as a scientific couple for about four decades. We apply high-pressure techniques to synthesize novel materials with unique properties and to study physical and chemical phenomena at extreme conditions. We design and build new instrumentation to enable sophisticated in situ experiments in house and on synchrotron radiation facilities at high and ultra-high static pressures. During the last decade our research has been particularly focused on the development of a high-pressure single-crystal X-ray diffraction technique in a diamond anvil cell (DAC). Our efforts have pushed the range of static pressures achievable in a DAC up to 1 TPa and enabled single-crystal X-ray diffraction experiments at simultaneous high pressures of over ~150 GPa and temperatures of several thousand degrees. This has led to remarkable findings in solid state physics and chemistry at extreme conditions.

We stand with Ukraine!
